Welcome to the Llano Chapter of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. If you would like to be informed of our future outings, meetings, or information on prospecting in the Llano area please send me an email too: Email. I will put you on our news group email list. If you don't have access to email please call my cell at: 830-798-6131 if I don't answer leave a message and I will get back to you ASAP. We have several permitted areas on the Llano River that are open to the public for panning and sluicing. If you need more information on these areas please give me a call or send me an email. The Llano Chapter of the GPAA meets on the 4th Saturday of every month at the Kingsland Library at 5:00 pm. We hold our regular outings on the second weekend of every month. Our meetings and outings are open to all GPAA members and non members.

Outings:

May 10-11 Longs Fish Camp and digs. Located near Kingsland TX.

This will cost $20.00 per person per day to dig and camp. For those interested in attending, there will be teaching on panning and equipment operation. If you are going to attend the outing, please RSVP Bob Jones.

Directions to Long’s: From the North, turn South onto RR1431 from Hwy 29. About 3 miles, turn right onto County Road 321 onto a dirt road. Follow dirt road to dead end, turn right, across low water crossing, up hill. The first building you see is where to pay. GPAA members must present membership card for GPAA camping and prospecting rates. From the South, get on 281 to Marble Falls until you come to RR1431. Turn north and Kingsland is about 13 miles away. Go through Kingsland and you will come to Co. Rd. 321 on your left. RV’s are welcome but there are no hook-ups.

Interest:

We still have a new Camel complete with all components that some lucky person is going to win at the 4^th Annual Gold Panning Contest the last weekend in September. Tickets are 1 for $2.00 or 3 for $5.00.

The forums have been removed off the website and we will be using Yahoo groups for posting pictures, notices, and buy/sales. You will need to create a Yahoo ID witch is free and easy. You will then be able to post your photo's and thoughts alone with replay to other members posts. This will give us basically a unlimited group photo area alone with personal profiles. You can post the information you want others to see. This is also a great source in putting together small outings and finding a buddy for weekend trips.
